UK Penalties Increased For Texting And Driving

Drivers are being warned not to use their mobile phones at the wheel as a new law doubles the penalties for the offence.
It’s illegal to use a hand-held phone or similar device while driving, or riding a motorcycle.
The rules are the same if you’re stopped at traffic lights or queuing in traffic.
The Fixed Penalty Notice for using handheld mobile phone while driving will increase to £200 and 6 points.
